Solvothermal treatment using glycerol effectively removes chlorine from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Additive-free PVC was dechlorinated by with in an autoclave at 200–240 °C. Liquid coexistent a red powder after the reaction 200 At temperatures of 220 and 240 °C, liquid disappeared, carbonization proceeded to form black powder. In this reaction, directly converted into glycidol. Epichlorohydrin also produced via 1,3-dichloro-2-propanol as intermediate. The polyethylene oxide structure, following generation polyene structure zip-elimination. Finally, resinified epoxidation glycidol epichlorohydrin.
